Academic Mission

The Diploma in Midwifery program at Ibanda School of Midwifery and Nursing provides comprehensive theoretical knowledge and practical skills essential for competent midwifery practice. This program equips students with the ability to provide holistic care to women throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period, as well as to newborns. Graduates will learn to manage normal pregnancies and deliveries, identify and manage obstetric emergencies, and promote maternal and infant health through education and counseling. The curriculum emphasizes evidence-based practice, ethical considerations, and interprofessional collaboration within the healthcare system. Upon successful completion, graduates will be prepared to serve as skilled and compassionate midwives in various healthcare settings.
