Academic Mission
The Master of Library and Information Science program at Uganda Christian University provides advanced study in the principles and practices of information management, organization, and dissemination. Students will explore critical theories and contemporary issues within library and information science, developing expertise in areas such as digital curation, information retrieval, and research methodologies. The curriculum is designed to equip graduates with the analytical and practical skills necessary to lead and innovate within diverse information environments. This program prepares professionals for leadership roles in academic, public, special, and digital libraries, as well as archives, museums, and information technology sectors. Graduates will be adept at managing information resources, developing user-centered services, and contributing to the advancement of information literacy. Key skills developed include strategic planning, information technology application, and advanced research techniques.
