Academic Mission
The Bachelor of Arts in Social and Religious Studies is an undergraduate program designed to foster a critical understanding of the complex interplay between social structures and religious phenomena. Students will explore diverse theoretical frameworks and methodological approaches to analyze how religious beliefs and practices shape and are shaped by societal dynamics. The curriculum emphasizes comparative religious studies, sociological theories of religion, and the historical development of religious traditions within various cultural contexts. Through rigorous coursework and research, students will develop analytical skills to interpret social issues through a religious lens and to understand the role of religion in contemporary society. This program cultivates a nuanced perspective essential for engaging with multicultural and pluralistic environments.
