I f possible, consult an adult and search the Internet while doing the activity. Introduction In Primary Seven you studied Social Studies. Social Studies has contents of History and Geography. This year you will learn about History as an independent subject. What do you think the subject History is about? History is the subject that studies past events, it makes a comparison with the present in order to forecast the future. Why do you think it is important to learn about past events? It is a relevant subject since it helps us find out and learn from the successes and failures of people, organizations and nations. Political Education is made from two words: Political which is a set of activities associated with government of a country/an area that makes decisions that affects the group members; and Education which is the process of acquiring knowledge, skills, values, beliefs, and habits by a facilitator or a teacher. Can you now try to give the meaning of Political Education? Political Education is, therefore, the process of teaching learners about the politics of a group, country or organization where the individuals belong.
