Program Description
The Master of Public Health (MPH) program at Uganda Martyrs University equips graduates with advanced knowledge and practical skills in the theory and practice of public health. This interdisciplinary program focuses on understanding the determinants of health and disease within populations, and on developing, implementing, and evaluating public health interventions. Students will engage with critical issues in epidemiology, biostatistics, health policy and management, environmental health, and social and behavioral sciences. The curriculum emphasizes a strong foundation in research methodologies and ethical considerations relevant to public health practice. Graduates are prepared to address complex health challenges and contribute to improving health outcomes at local, national, and international levels. Typical career paths include roles in governmental health ministries, non-governmental organizations, international health agencies, and research institutions, requiring strong analytical, leadership, and program management skills.
