Academic Mission
The Bachelor of Science in Records and Library Management program at the Islamic University in Uganda equips students with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to effectively manage information resources in diverse organizational settings. This undergraduate degree focuses on principles of information organization, preservation, retrieval, and dissemination. Students will explore cataloging, classification, database management, digital archiving, and user services. The curriculum emphasizes the evolving landscape of information technology and its impact on records and library services. Graduates of this program are prepared for careers in academic, public, special, and corporate libraries, as well as records management departments within government and private organizations. Key skills developed include information analysis, digital literacy, and project management.
