Academic Mission

The Bachelor of Social Sciences and Community Development program at the Islamic University in Uganda provides a comprehensive interdisciplinary education focused on understanding and addressing complex social issues. Students will engage with theoretical frameworks and practical methodologies in sociology, anthropology, political science, and development studies. The curriculum emphasizes critical analysis of societal structures, power dynamics, and the processes of social change. A significant component involves fieldwork and community engagement, fostering practical skills in needs assessment, program design, and implementation. Graduates will be equipped to pursue careers in non-governmental organizations, government agencies, international development, and community-based initiatives, or to further their studies in related postgraduate fields.
