1 S.1 MATHEMATICS HOLIDAY WORK -TERM ONE 202 6 Attempt all items Item 1 Lydia is a decorator who has just received a contract offer to decorate at a certain wedding, they have agreed to pay her eighteen million six hundred forty -five thousand shillings for her to decorate both functions, the decoration and the reception venue. She usually uses 45% of the money to buy new materials, 0.3 of the money for transport and the rest for salaries for her and her helpers, she is not sure how much she will earn since she is s upposed to. During one of the wedding meeting the bride asked for some special lights that had not been included in the initial budget and Lydia asked them to make an increase in payment of 3:2. the bride is not sure of the new amount they have to pay for decoration so she asks for help. For the job Lydia has bought three rolls of different colored materials of length 320m, 480m 520m. but has to cut them such that they form table clothes of the same length however she is not sure of the measurements she sho uld use cut the rolls. Task: (a) How much should Lydia expect to earn from the contract. (b) Help the bride to determine the new amount they have to pay for decoration. (c) Help Lydia to determine the number of table clothes she will get from her rolls. Item 2 A retir ed civil servant has acquired land in Obongi district. He has found a secret deposit box with a password written as 55 in base six.
