The P4 Transition: What Changes?

1. Medium of Instruction

The most dramatic change: all subjects are now taught in English. While the local language remains a subject, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and RE are conducted entirely in English.

This shift is challenging because:

• Many students come from homes where English is rarely spoken
• Technical vocabulary in subjects like Science is new and difficult
• Teachers themselves may struggle with fluency

2. Subject-Based Curriculum

P4 introduces distinct subjects:
