Primary 7 (P7) represents the culmination of seven years of primary education in Uganda. Understanding the PLE Structure

PLE examines four core subjects [1][2]:

1. Mathematics: 100 marks, 2 hours 30 minutes
2. English: 100 marks, 2 hours 30 minutes
3. Science: 100 marks, 2 hours
4. Social Studies: 100 marks, 2 hours

Grading System

UNEB uses an aggregate system where:

• Distinction 1 (D1): 4 – 12 aggregate (top performance)
• Distinction 2 (D2): 13 – 23 aggregate
• Credit (C): 24 – 29 aggregate
• Pass (P): 30 – 34 aggregate

Lower aggregate = better performance. An aggregate of 4 means D1 in all subjects [2].
